A collaboration of old traditional houses from the Edo period, newly bred flowers, and wild birds. Here you will find "satoyama" the original landscape of the Japanese people.

Our nursery is open for visitors, who can see the nurturing process at site and follow our selective breeding, improving and nurturing until new cultivars are generated.
You will be able to meet many Kamo Garden original and exclusive flowers during each season.

Japanese Iris
Our garden park has been preserving the traditional flowers since the Edo period and also carried out the latest varieties.
By the end of April, the first varieties start to bloom and you will meet each variety disputing its splendor until the end of June.

Diamond lily
The Diamond lily (genus Nerine) is a bulb native from South Africa, var. Lycoris genus Nerine. This jewel from the late autumn is called Diamondlily as the petals reflect light and shine brilliantly and graceful like diamond dust.
In 1986, the Kamoso Kachoen Garden Park started the selective breedingwhich resulted in large-flowered and big-bloomed diamond lilies.

Kamoso
Shoya residence
The Shoya residence “Kamoso” located at the east central side of the Japanese Iris garden, has been the residence of the Kamo Family since the Momoyama period (approx.. 1573-1600DC).
The present residence was built 250 years ago, in the middle Edo period. Its good state of preservation allowed the stage formany films shots and super hero tv series.
The Shoya residence has been opened to visitors all the yearround where you can enjoy a tea break with the famous Kakegawa deep-steamed green tea and sweets.
Food
You can enjoy inherited traditional cuisine from the Kamo family and so on.
